Brief info
Shifu Richardson started his study of martial arts in Vermillion, SD under Master Kevin in 1999. He studied martial arts continuously until July of 2005 at which time he moved to Florida for 1.5 years. After this brief hiatus he returned to South Dakota to attend college and discussed with Shifu Nick Willan the possibility of joining the instructor training program. Shifu Willan graciously agreed to accept Richardson as an instructor trainee and for the next two years tutored Richardson in the principles of 8 Step Preying Mantis. In March of 2009 Shifu Richardson took the National Shifu Certification Exam in Madison, SD along with seven other individuals, and passed. Shifu Richardson is working on completing his Political Science and Economics degrees from the University of South Dakota and eagerly awaiting his study abroad opportunity in Australia. Shifu Richardson will be teaching Mixed Martial Arts classes in Vermillion, SD starting in August.
