Jenny Hsiao-Nakamoto has been training Eight Step Preying Mantis Kung Fu and Shyun Style Tai Chi since 2008, when she moved to San Francisco for graduate school. She is grateful to Master Alan Nakamoto and the other Shifus at the San Francisco school for her early training, and has been privileged to continue camps under Master Alan. In 2023, Jenny was honored to receive Grandmaster Shyun’s recognition as a master of the system. She has a special interest in women’s and children’s self defense, and holds a certification with RadKIDS, a national organization for teaching children how to set and enforce safe boundaries. Together with Master Alan, she continues to teach in the San Francisco Bay Area.
